Information for booking students under 18:
- Students 13-15 years of age must attend all courses with a parent or guardian. This parent or guardian must also purchase a place in the course and take part. One parent/guardian is able to attend with multiple students.
- Students 16-17 years of age may attend a course without a parent or guardian present.

This workshop is aimed at people with no or minimal experience with printmaking and who are looking for an introduction to the craft.
The course is run using hand carving tools. An element of hand and wrist strength is required to carve linoleum and wood. All of the work can be carried out sitting down. The printing at the end of each class is done standing up but can be completed sitting down if requested.
By the end of this Introduction to Printmaking class you will have:
- A Linocut block of your own design
- A Woodblock of your own design
- A repeat-pattern block of your own design
- 6-10 various printed artworks on paper or as greeting cards
The knowledge to safely and effectively create your own printmaking blocks in addition to printing the blocks created in the class at home.
All other materials are supplied; you do not need to bring a design with you, but if you want to get some inspiration, you can look on Pinterest or Instagram at #printmaking, #linocut, #woodblock, and other tags.
You are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Please wear clothing that can get dirty. Long hair needs to be tied back, and no loose-hanging jewellery should be worn.

This class series runs over 2 consecutive sessions, which are 1 week apart.
