The combination of resin & timber to create stunning homewares is on trend, in this workshop you will create your own stunning charcuterie board to show off at your next party but you may decide is too beautiful to be hidden under your cheese and crackers!
This is the perfect class for people wanting to learn how to work safely and effectively with resin & timber, the lessons learnt in this workshop can be applied to other timber and resin projects including larger creations like a river table.
What you will learn:- What resin is and how to safely work with it
- Which resins are suitable for creating river boards and tables
- How to properly mix your resin
- How to add different pigments to colour your resin
- Instructions on how to sand and polish your board for best results.
Because your resin will need time to fully cure you will need to finish your piece at home, we will take you through the key steps to sand, polish and finish your piece at home. Depending on how much elbow grease you want to put into your finishing, you may need some basic wood working equipment at home - we will talk you through these options.
It can get a bit messy so don't dress to impress. Your boards will need 24 hours to dry, you will need to collect your pieces the following day. Postage can be arranged for an additional charge.
We believe craft is as much about creativity as it is about connection, in our workshops you have the opportunity to meet new friends, share a few stories, laugh with each other and simply enjoy some time out for yourself.
This class is not recommended for pregnant women or children under the age of 16 years as chemicals are used.
No prior experience required, this class is suitable for beginners as well as those with prior resin experience who are looking to learn some new skills. A knowledge of basic woodworking will be advantageous when finishing your piece at home but we will make sure you are fully briefed to finish your piece.

We will supply an appropriately aged and season slab of timber, enough resin and pigments to create your board as well as use of all of the tools and equipment you will need in the workshop.
Please note each timber slab will be unique and may vary from class to class depending on availability at the time of the workshop. There is a lot of resin used in this workshop which contributes to the higher cost of this class compared with our art workshops.
Everything you need to create your boards will be provided including an apron to wear during the workshop - do not dress to impress, if you get resin on your clothes or shoes it will not wash out.
