Paper Sculpture Workshop

We'll guide you through the process of planning, tracing, cutting, and shaping paper to create a stunning sculpture. Don't worry if you're new to this craft; we'll begin with exercises to familiarize you with the techniques and build your confidence. Some hand dexerity is needed for detailed cutting.You'll also learn how to construct the hidden structure of foam core that supports your paper sculpture. Then, we'll cover how to mount your creations. The small class (maximum 8 students) will allow individual attention. In our fully equipped studio in Strathfield (right near the train station in Sydney's inner wesr), you'll have access to all the tools and materials you need. Metal rulers, set squares, bone folders, X-acto knives, cutting mats, pencils, scissors, erasers, glue, templates, and inspirational photos will be provided. You won't have to worry about a thing - just bring your imagination and eagerness to create.At the end of the workshop, you'll have a beautifully crafted sculpture ready to take home and display. Our classwork is meticulously designed to perfectly fit an affordable easily available square box frame, making framing and hanging a breeze. If you can't wait to showcase your new creation, there will be a selection of box frames available for purchase.Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. There are no prerequisites, however, having done some craft that uses hand skills would be helpful, since there is detailed cutting with scissors or craft knives.
  You will walk away with your own elegant low relief paper sculpture 26cms x 26cms in white.
  You don't need to bring anything. I will provide ideas and templates, however, you are welcome to bring your own drawings, or ideas for your artwork.
