Really enjoyed the class, as a complete novice to any kind of bread baking I found Kaye's instruction very clear. The hands on opportunities throughout the class were very beneficial also. Kaye was a lovely person who went out of her way to create a lovely informative experience. I plan to make my first Artisan gluten free loaf in next few days! Highly recommend.

Teacher's response

Mary you were a delight and it was pleasure to have you join me in the class. I'm thrilled you can now bake your own gf/v sourdough. No more overpriced, unflavoured bread for you.

Once again Kate delivers. Well researched and practiced recipes. Lots of great tips. And amazing gluten free and vegan sourdoughs. Yes doughs. 3 to choose from. All yummy. A take home starter and some super fine ground grains to repeat at home.

Teacher's response

See you in another class soon.

Lovely social day as well as learning how to make the yummiest bread. Teacher was so knowledgeable and spent so much time giving us good hints and answering our questions, in a truly beautiful and cosy home. Great value for the cost and I'll be making my own bread from n ow on and not getting nasty tummy upsets. Thank you for a wonderful day.

The content covered in the class was informative, but unfortunately I felt I had to excuse myself early from class due to a racist discussion between some students and the teacher. It’s a shame that I had to leave and that the discussion even took place in the first place, but hopefully my feedback is taken on board and those involved educate themselves and do better in future.

Teacher's response

Food and language are fundamental aspects of my workshops and classes, as well as our daily lives. When we blend food and conversation in my workshops, it often helps people to relax and connect more than they might in other settings. I take great pride in the deep connections that participants form over food during these sessions, fostering even richer conversations. Additionally, I am proud of the inclusive atmosphere we create, embracing all cultures, countries, and viewpoints through our shared culinary experiences.

Please know that, like you, I do not tolerate racism or discrimination. I understand that navigating societal changes can be challenging, which we discussed in the workshop you attended. I hope the chocolate chip recipe you requested continues to bring you joy and that you find the tools, tips, and techniques shared during the workshop helpful. May they inspire you to savor food, life, and conversation with passion.

Kaye’s gluten free sourdough class was amazing. From the moment I entered her home I felt welcome and relaxed in the wholesome setting. The tutorials are really easy to follow and I enjoyed getting involved. The best part was eating the bread with a nourishing bowl of soup Kaye had prepared for us! My starter has been going well at home and my first bake came out great thanks to Kaye’s guidance. Highly recommend everyone try this class even if you don’t eat gluten free usually, it’s great to use different grains for bread making.

Teacher's response

Shannon, I'm thrilled you have up-skilled your baking to include GF Sourdough.

I made my first GF vegan loaf of bread after the class and wow I love my new skills. Class was fun. Take lots of notes and photos as I relied on these to make it at home. Can buy most of the ingredients at KFL in Springvale. Protein powder from Chemist warehouse Mentone. Can get Kosha salt from Benedikt imports Cheltenham. Teacher was lovely too thank you for such a lovely learning experience. Photo of my sourdough I made at home. Still need to have a go at artisan loaf. Just finished my lunch of home made tomato soup with my own baked vegan GF bread- delicious

Teacher's response

I'm thrilled you gained a skill that will be with you for life. Thank you for sharing.

"Thank you for your message and request for more hands-on and things to take home - which everyone who has attended workshops since February has benefited from. So thank you from them too! I certainly hope that you continue to put what you learned into practice and perhaps I'll see you at another of my workshops in the future."
