Botanical Gel Printing with Acrylic Paint Class

Learn this simple printmaking technique to create a collection of beautifully detailed botanical artworks of your own - no painting or drawing skills required! We'll be creating our prints with clear gel/gelli plates, creating one-of-a-kind artworks featuring impressions of leaves and flowers in acrylic paints.We will mainly be working with 5x7" gel plates, but there will be a few other fun shapes to try out too. I'll have some leaves and bits and pieces available to use, but you are welcome to also bring along anything from your own garden to try out as well. Weeds and grasses can look just as good as anything else! Just be sure to choose plants that don't have any thorns, as they can damage the gel plates.Botanical Gel Printing can be a fantastic way to create a meaningful piece of art from a plant or flower that means something to you or your family.This in-person event is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. I will guide you through the process, ensuring you have a wonderful time unleashing your creativity. At the end of the class, you will be familiar with the gel printing process, and you'll have a collection of original art for your home.Depending on your schedule, you might like to bring along a snack (a fridge and microwave are available to use).   All materials are provided for use within the class. You'll head home with your own collection of original botanical artworks.
  Some plant/flower/weed clippings to print with. You can semi-press them beforehand in a phonebook if you like, but this is not necessary. If you have any questions about what may or may not print well feel free to contact me.You might like to bring along a snack too!
